Grad Letters

Another year is coming to a close with much emotion as we reflect over the last years of being together. Grads either have yearnings for the year to never end as they face the uncertainty of life without MEI, or they are biting at the bit as they race away without looking back. The memories often do not focus on the classes that they took but rather on the experiences they had with friends or foe. Teachers, lockers neighbours, and hallway commuters all have faces that fade into their futures and haunt the spaces in MEI for years to come.

Many grads have developed an array of opinions and are eager to share their new found freedom of voicing them. Please enjoy the letters that were written as part of a class assignment posted on the blogs listed in the side bar. Then, when all is said and done, comment on your memories of graduation.

New Postings, and Readings

Today is the day! I am so looking foward to reading your latest postings because these ones are topics of your choice. Ideas that flow from you with creativity and passion.

Rules are: Finish by Friday evening. Those that do will have an additional 3 bonus marks. Those procrastinators in the group, and you know who you are, can not post later than Sunday evening (midnight for those who need exactness). The posting times will show up on your blogs. Don't forget to add a picture to your post. Be creative!

Make certain to bring your outlines to class on Monday morning as I will be collecting them for marks.

Time to Mark!

Students, don't forget that either later this evening, or tomorrow afternoon, I hope to grade your blogs. Be sure to give each posting a title, the story post should have a suitable picture, edited, and have comments, you should have most if not all of the students linked to your blog. Don't forget to read each other's stories and leave a comment. Its blog etiquette to leave a comment when you read someone else's blog. :)

In the meantime, here are few pictures to peruse. Perhaps one of them might stir a story within you! Post it

Old Times

Well, its been a very long time since I taught grade 9 English! Some of the students in these pictures are back in my classes and letting me share their last year with them. What a privilege it is to watch students grow, mature, and develop into the people that they were designed to be!

I look forward to seeing more evidence of their adulthood as we head towards June.
